NET-A-PORTER.COM is thrilled to announce the exclusive launch of the tokidoki x Karl Lagerfeld capsule collection. The collection will be sold exclusively online at NET-A-PORTER.COM and the Karl Lagerfeld concept stores in Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris and comprises of three look-a-like character dolls and a ready-to-wear collection.
The launch of the limited-edition collection follows Karl Lagerfeld’s foray into tokidoki territory earlier in 2013, when the designer first released his own character doll. The new collection will feature a covetable tokidoki doll of Karl Lagerfeld and his famed cat, Choupette, which is aptly named Mr. Choupette.
The creator of tokidoki, Italian artist Simone Legno, has worked in close collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld to create playful cartoon-like illustrations of the internationally-renowned designer. These caricatures have been printed on ready-to-wear apparel including t-shirts and skinny jeans and accessories including a clutch, scarves and iPhone cover. “I am very flattered that I have become a tokidoki.” says Karl Lagerfeld, Creative Director. “I always loved them and I am very happy to be one of them.”
