Wearing: Isabel Marant Coat (similar here), Karen Walker Sunglasses, THORN choker, Frame denim jeans and Gianvito Rossi heels.
The other day I was loading my car and had one of those ‘hold on a minute’ moments. From the nape of my neck to the tip of my toe I was wearing a shade of navy. Not only that I was carrying 2 bags. My handbag and my handbag/laptop bag. Both beautiful, ( a little extravagant) and both navy. When did this happen exactly? When did I get so comfortable with a colour I invested in not 1 but 2 ‘timeless’ bags in a colour other than black? I’m not sure. I also know I’m probably not alone in the unconscious wardrobe takeover.
It’s not all bad. In fact, it’s all quite good actually. But one of the best parts is having been a basic black ‘bird’ for so long I still have plenty of black basics. And I love pairing these two colours together. Thank goodness they can play nicely.
Here are some fine examples of how others have done this and some pieces that are AOK to purchase.
