We love Rosie. A little insight into her life courtesy of Harpers Bazaar.
I’m often jet-lagged, as I spend about one week a month in London, so i’m always awake very early in L.A. I wake up to my miniature dachshunds, Dolly and Peggy, either barking or licking my face. My first conversation of the day is with my boyfriend, Jason [Statham].
I brush my teeth. I’m very diligent about my skin-care routine. Every morning I use iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, Active Serum and Hydra-ool Serum. Once that’s settled, I’ll apply a Control Corrective sunscreen.
I head downstairs to let the dogs out into the garden, feed them, make myself a coffee, and chug a bottle of water. I’m totally useless without a coffee. For breakfast, I’ll have scrambled eggs on toast or yogurt with a handful of granola – preferably paleo – with some mixed berries, and maybe a breakfast muffin (also paleo) with a green juice. Then I go back to bed with the dogs – I put CNN or BBC and return e-mails, or i might scroll through Instagram and Twitter.
It takes me 10 minutes to pick an outfit. I don’t have any set uniform. I always think about where my day is going to take me and how I want to feel. I never leave the house without my perfume on. My new favourite is my first fragrance, which I have just created for my lingerie line, Rosie for Autograph it’s rose, jasmine magnolia and pepper. For days off and running errands, I stick to jeans and a T-shirt with a blazer and booties. Days at home, I’m often in my workout gear all day.
I like to drive myself everywhere in LA. I usually call my mum or dada or my sister back in the U.K. I listen to Howard Stern religiously. I drive to the gym after breakfast. I’m addicted to Body by Simone and Ballet Bodies in LA. If I’m in London, my driver, Vic, who has been driving me since I was 16, will pick me up and bring me to the shoot location.
For shoots, I’ll take a giant green juice and my laptop so I can work during hair and makeup. Once the hellos are done, there’s a quick meeting with the team to discuss the rundown of the day. I’m often on my laptop replying to e-mails, or gathering inspiration for upcoming shoots and my lingerie collection. I love using Pinterest to create mood boards. I refer to them in meetings.
I get on set for the first shot. Most days there will be about 10 or 20 shots – I’ve done shoots where you might do 20 or 30, which is tiring to say the least ! Music is usually blasting, which keep the mood up. I love being on set with people who like to have fun, but there are times when the set has to be quieter and more concentrated. Every few minutes someone jumps in to fix the hair, rearrange the outfit, touch up the makeup, change the lightening, or adjust the set.
Lunch usually consists of a piece of protein, like fish or chicken, or turkey, with lots of salad and fresh vegetables. At work, everyone helps themselves to catering, and we sit around a big table and chat I usually eat standing up.
The only rule I have with anyone who works with my is that they have to have a positive, upbeat, no-nonense attitude. I like to surround myself with people who are bright, hardworking and talk no BS ! Most shoots I’m working with people I’ve known for years, so it’s always good energy. To be a successful model, you have to be a team player and trouper. Your reputation is everything in the entertainment industry, and everyone talks. I love this saying, “It takes a lifetime to build a reputation and a single act to destroy it.” You’re lucky if you get an opportunity, and if you do you’ve got to make the best out of it. You’ve got to show up and work hard.
Some shoots will go on until late into the night, but most days finish around 6. I try to eat at home n the earlier side, around 7:30, but if I go out to eat it’s around usually 8:30. I love going to restaurants for dinner and out for drinks afterward. I love savoury food – cheese, bread, pasta, french friends, bacon, pigs i a blanket ! (I could just eat a plate of pigs in a blanket, and I’d be happy.) L.A. is a daytime city. There’s a lot of hanging out at home and going out to dinners. There’s no nightlife. In New York or London, it’s the opposite, as those cities come alive at night. Occasionally there will be a super-late night, which might end at a house party or in a nightclub; I love dancing and having a laugh with my mates. When I’m travelling I always put an outfit on every time there’s going to be paparazzi at the airport, and when I get on the plane I change and snuggle down.
Before bed I usually watch a bit of TV or read a book. I love shows like True Detective or Scandal. I usually have a bath or shower, and wash and dry my hair. I cleanse my face again, use Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads followed by Resurface by Shani Darden Retinol Reform put a dab of perfume, and moisturise. I tidy up my closet, straighten up the kitchen, or relax in my bedroom with my dogs curled up around me.
